"I'd like to recommend Environs Residential for home remodeling projects.
We wanted to redo our kitchen but had no idea where to start or what could be done. Just wanted something more modern and upgraded. Environs is owned by a married couple - Dawn is the designer and Terry is the general contractor/project manager. They complement each other well - since they expect to be on the hook for what they design. Working with Dawn was easy as I am not very good with choices but I do make decisions quickly - so after she understood our style, she'd bring a few pre-selected samples from the vendors, make her recommendation and we would take some time to decide. I didn't have to spend hours browsing stores or Internet which I didn't want to do. She also expanded the scope to include the areas adjacent to our kitchen and made great recommendation to increase the value of the house and make the area more spacious and livable.
The execution itself was much easier than I thought. With 2 small boys, a dog, nanny, me working from home (and in 2nd trimester with baby #3) I was concerned about the construction of such a frequently used area. The project was on schedule and finished exactly on the date we were given, all the workers were on time and very polite and respectful of our house. They coordinated the disposal of our old appliances and kitchen with the buyers I found on craigslist and in general took care of every single detail. They shielded our living area from the construction area and tried to keep the key things working as long as possible (sink, fridge) so we are comfortable. I had a calendar that was regularly updated to see what was coming and which days will be noisy/smelly, etc. This was our first experience with a bigger project and I was very pleased - and so were my friends/neighbors who couldn't believe they were on time !
